What is an API?

location_onPlain-English guide

An API (Application Programming Interface) is a set of rules that lets one software program talk to another. Think of it as a messenger that takes a request, tells the other system what you want, and brings back the answer.

When your website shows live exchange rates, charges a card through Stripe, or syncs contacts with a CRM, it's using APIs. The API is the standardized 'doorway' between your product and someone else's.

For growing businesses, well-designed APIs matter twice: they let you connect today's tools to each other, and they let others build on your product later. Every system we build is API-ready so integrations are cheap and future-proof.
